UWUMI Delivers Essential Clothing Donation to Homecraft College in Nyakato, Mwanza

At UWUMI Global Initiative Foundation (UGIF), we are committed to transforming lives by addressing key challenges facing vulnerable communities in Tanzania, including hunger, inadequate resources, and limited access to education and skills training. In line with this mission, we recently delivered a generous donation of clothes for girls and boys to Homecraft College in Nyakato, Mwanza.

Homecraft College, located in Nyakato Sokoni (just 5 km from Mwanza city center, adjacent to the Roman Catholic Church), is a vital vocational training center offering practical courses in tailoring, computer skills, mechanics, plumbing, and driving. These programs equip young people—many from low-income families—with essential skills for employment and self-reliance, helping break cycles of poverty.

The donation, transported in large sacks and colorful bundles (as seen in the photo of our delivery vehicle loaded and ready), includes a variety of clothing items suitable for both girls and boys. These much-needed garments will support students who often face resource constraints, ensuring they can focus on their studies without worrying about basic needs.

This initiative reflects UWUMI’s broader work in Mwanza and beyond: providing capacity-building, health promotion, education enhancement, and direct support to over 500 vulnerable families. By partnering with local institutions like Homecraft College, we empower the next generation to build brighter, more productive futures.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our donors, volunteers, and team members who made this possible. Your support changes lives!
